Fiction State Prosecutor and widower seeks help from a homeopathic healder for a cold he's had for over a year. When one of her over-enthuisiastic patients eats a cashew, to which he's wildly allergic, and dies in an attempt to cure his asthma thinking that the homeopathic "law of similars" applies. The law states something to the effect that substances which aggravate a condition can actually motivate the body to cure itself. Unfortunately, the theory is also that the dose of the similar substance is diluted almost beyond detection.
